Key milestones in DosVault's development

2024 - The Idea

The initial concept for DosVault was born from the frustration of managing thousands of DOS games across multiple directories with no easy way to organize or search through them.

2024 - First Prototype

Development began with a simple Python script that could scan directories and fetch basic metadata.

2025 - Public Release

First public release with web interface, IGDB integration, Docker support, and multi-user capabilities. The project went open source on GitHub.

Future

Plans include DOSBox integration, mobile apps, social features, and enhanced game preservation tools. The roadmap is driven by community feedback and needs.
